Our route “Expedition to the Pole of Cold ”  in Ojmjakon, developed together with the Moscow touroperator “RussiaDiscovery”, was recognized by Forbes Russian edition as one of the 8 most unusual tourist destinations in Russia. Here is how it was described in journalists publications for the rich and famous:

“The trip itself, or one can even say the expedition lasts for nine days and is held three times in a season – in January, February and March. The maximum number     of participants in the group is 8 people. The trip promised to present an ethnographic expedition, a dive into the history and customs of local residents, the greatest possible integration into the local culture and life. The tour organizers say, Ojmjakon is the best place to check yourself for strength,     and once in a life to see that the weather in Moscow, St. Petersburg and throughout  the middle belt of the country is not so bad.”

In fact in December of 2007, the same route entered into the 50 most exotic itineraries in the world by the international edition of GEO.

My spirit of adventure, my craving for knowledge and seeing life have always been essential requisites for my life. These are the reasons why I have decided to join the expedition to the Pole of cold.
This experience completely satisfied me thanks to the kindness and helpfulness showed by some local people who supported me, especially because I had the possibility to experience further personal adventures at extreme weather and temperature conditions (-66 C). A heartful “thanks” to some of them who became friends for life and I will never ever forget.

I have returned from an amazing adventure at the pole of cold. It reached -66 in Oymyakon on the morning of the 19th of January. I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to experience those kind of temperatures, which is very close to the all-time record of -67.7С. My friends here at home cannot imagine what temperatures like that are like, and they are fascinated by my stories. I want to thank Slava and Stas and all of the people at Yakutia Travel who made this a memorable event. Everything went off without a hitch.

This summer in mid July our company tested rafting trip along the most beautiful rivulets of Yakutia – Rassokha. It is a tribute of Yasachnaya river, which is flowing into the Kolyma river in Verkhnekolymsk region of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The route goes through absolutely wild territories where barely a human being is a rare guest and wild animals are real land lords. The trip starts from mouth of Kharaulakh river coming from Zyryanka by helicopter and ends in Mamot river mouth going through picturesque views of mountains and canyons.
Rafting category is equal to III+ degree that allow to participate in for all ages without special basic training.
Coming out of that trip with tourists from Switzerland we will work out 7 days rafting route and publish in our site. This route is represented by “Коlym Intour” company (Alexsander Mekheda, Chief director) being in charge of that project. Test travel was made with the help of Ministry of business affairs, tourism development and employment of Sakha Republic (Yakutia) (Anatoly Skrybykin, Minister) and by means and support of Business support foundation (Mikhail Philippoff). This year in the middle of February, the group of seven Japanese tourists organized by “Euras Tours Co.” (Japan) has made an auto tour from Yakutsk to the “Pole of Cold” in Oymyakon and back for 7 days. They traveled through four Yakutia regions attending Ytyk Kyuol, Tyoply Klyuch, Churapcha, Kyubeme settlements. The total distance they covered was about 2.5 thousand km. The lowest temperature they met there was 57.5 Centigrade below zero. For this evidence the Major of Oymyakon testimonialized each adventurer a certificate about their attendance the “Pole of Cold”. See notes of thanks below:
