The school of the dog-team driver in Yakutia
The weekly tour along Yakutia: northern nature, culture of the northern peoples, active rest and adventures, safari on the dog sledges
Tour period: February – April
Duration of the tour: 7 days
The cost includes: the service of the guides, the dog-sledges (1 tourist in 1 dog sledge for the group no more than 5 people), snow mobiles, transfers from/to the airport, accommodation in the guest house “Ambarchik” (in sleeping bags) and further en-route, full boarding house, all events and excursions according to the program
The cost does not include: air flight Moscow-Yakutsk-Moscow, foodstuff and beverages from standard menu, special warm clothes and shoes, accommodation, meals and service of an english speaking interpreter.
1 day
Pick up in the airport in the early morning, transfer to the tourist complex “Chochur Muraan” (6 km. from the city). Accommodation in “Ambarchik” – comfortable wooden house with the architecture in the style of Siberian traders (shower, toilet, 1 double room with two beds, 1 room for 4 people for the overnight in the sleeping bags). The farm of the Yakut laika is located nearby.
Little rest, breakfast.
Walk on foot to “Ytyk Khaia” complex (200 meters), where you will take part in “Algys” rite (purification and blessing).
Lunch in “Chochur Muraan” restaurant (Yakut national cuisine). Acquaintance with Yakut laika and the history of dog sledges use in Yakutia in the “House of a dog-team driver”. Practical exercises with the dogs: teaching the commands and skills.
The use of the team and sledge will take course on the ice of the frozen lake Ytyk Kuel near the complex. Dinner in the restaurant of the complex.
Rest in the guesthouse “Ambarchik”.
Accommodation in the hotel in Yakutsk and transfers to/from Yakutsk for additional fee.
2 day
Breakfast in the restaurant of the complex.
This day, you will drive on the dog-sledges though snow taiga from “Chochur Muraan” to the Hunter’s Hut (33 km, 6-8 hours in way) with the short stop near
Shaman-tree.
A snow mobile or car will accompany you – in case if you need the rest (if you are tired or because of extremely low temperature) it will always be nearby. The guides will organize lunch-picnic with hot tea or coffee on the way.
Arrival to the hut in the evening. Dinner and overnight in the hut – small, but clean and warm. Accommodation in the sleeping bags on the wooden plank beds, which are covered by the skins.
3 day
You will make your way back on the dog-sledges after the breakfast in the Hunter’s Hut.
Lunch on the way in field conditions. Arrival in “Chochur Muraan” complex in the evening.
Dinner in the restaurant. Rest in “Ambarchik”.
4 day
After breakfast we get into the car with the dogs and move to Khangalassy village on the bank of the Lena River (40 km. from the city), where the expedition along frozen river till Sottintsy village starts (15 km). In Sottintsy, the museum in the open air “Druzhba” is located. It is dedicated to the history of the establishment of Yakutsk and Russian trailblazers.
Lunch on the way in field conditions.
Visit to the museum. Dinner and overnight in the village house in the sleeping bags.
5 day
After breakfast – departure from Sottintsy to “Chochur Muraan” by car.
Lunch in the restaurant of the complex.
After lunch – competitions on the dog sledges along Ytyk Kuel Lake near the complex.
Dinner in the restaurant of the complex.
Overnight in “Ambarchik”.
6 day
After breakfast – visit to the Permafrost Kingdom (200 meters on foot), which is located in huge ice cave inside the mountain Chochur Muraan.
Meeting with the Lord of Frost “Chyskhaan”. Transfer to the city for the excursion program, which includes visits to Regional Museum, Mammoth Museum and Treasury of Yakutia.
Come-back to the complex for lunch.
After lunch – visit to diamond-polishing factory, where you may get acquainted with the process of diamonds polishing and buy certificated brilliants. Shopping in the souvenir shops, purchase of the unique Yakut goods – fur, mammoth bone, silver. Visit to country market where you can buy the products, made of famous
Yakut fish, reindeer, foal.
Come-back to the “Chochue Muraan” complex.
Farewell dinner in the restaurant and getting the certificates of “The school of the dog-team driver”.
Overnight in “Ambarchik”.
7 day
After breakfast – transfer to the hotel. Departure from Yakutsk
